Special Education: Assistive Technology Information

The District is committed to the growth and development of every student. IEP teams give consideration to the assistive technology devices and/or services that may assist students, based on their unique needs, to have access to the curriculum.

Assistive technology device means any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability.

The District often consults with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC) Unit regarding services and supports.
