The Shaker Heights IT Department is comprised of three teams with members who provide a variety of technology-related support services to Shaker students, faculty, and staff:
- The Technology Services team, led by Mr. Casey Ailiff, provides direct user and classroom technology support via the district's IT help desk. In addition, Technology Services maintains the district's one-to-one Chromebook program and all faculty laptops. This includes future planning and device lifecyle management from procurement, to distribution, repair, and disposal.
- The Student Data & Accountability team, led by Dr. Chris Rateno, supports the District's core data systems including the student information system (PowerSchool) and online student registration system. In addition, the Student Data & Accountability team coordinates District assessments, ensures the District meets all state EMIS reporting requirements and provides ad-hoc data reports.
- The Network & System Security team, led by Mr. Mike Karenke, ensures all district infrastructure, including virtual and physical server environments, WAN, LAN, WLAN, and telephony systems are maintained and highly available. In addition, the Network & System Security team reviews and implements cybersecurity controls across all facets of Shaker technology.
