Lisa CremerLisa Cremer is a community organizer whose professional experience includes conducting research and advocating for public health initiatives that benefit those suffering from addiction, mental and terminal illness, and poverty. She also has experience researching the causes of autism spectrum disorders and working with children and families affected by autism. Ms. Cremer earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University and her Master’s Degrees in Public Health and Social Work from Boston University. She has served as the treasurer for a local non-profit support group for families of medical professionals who are moving to the Cleveland area and is active in the Lomond PTO. She is a mother of three current Shaker students. Ms. Cremer was elected to the board in 2017. Term ends 12/31/21. Email:
Ayesha Bell HardawayAyesha Bell Hardaway is an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She earned her law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and her B.A. in Sociology from The College of Wooster. She is a Shaker Heights High School graduate and parent of a current Shaker student and a recent Shaker grad. Ms. Hardaway previously worked in the Trial Department at Tucker Ellis LLP and as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Cuyahoga County. In addition to prior board service with non-profit organizations, Ms. Hardaway serves as a member and General Counsel of the Olivet Housing and Community Development Corporation. She has also served as a chair, leader and team member of several Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association outreach efforts. She was elected as the Board's Vice President in 2020. Term ends 12/31/21. Jeffrey IsaacsJeffrey Isaacs is head of U.S. operations for a Japanese maker of specialty art hanging systems in museums such as the Frick Collection, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the National Gallery of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Art. He and his wife, Anne Borchert, have three sons. The oldest two are graduates of Shaker Heights Schools and the youngest is a sophomore at Shaker Heights High School. Isaacs is a graduate of Vassar College and earned a graduate degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago. Before moving to Shaker, he and his family lived in Japan for five years, where he was an assistant professor at Yokohama City University, doing research and translation. He has been an active PTO volunteer for more than a decade, serving in a variety of leadership roles including PTO Co-President at Boulevard and Co-President of PTO Council, as a tutor, a band booster, and as a National History Day judge. He previously served as Co-President of the Vassar Club of Cleveland. Mr. Isaacs was elected as the Board's Vice President in 2017 and elected as the President in 2018 and in 2019. Emmitt R. Jolly Jr.Emmitt R. Jolly is a tenured associate professor of biology at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Jolly’s research focuses on the parasitic schistosome worm, which causes schistosomiasis, a global disease affecting over 200 million people across 76 countries. Prior to moving to Shaker Heights with his family in 2009, Dr. Jolly worked as a postdoctoral fellow in molecular parasitology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Jolly earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Tuskegee University and his master’s and doctorate degrees in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Jolly is the father of two Shaker Heights High School students. He was elected to the Board in November 2019. Term ends 12/31/23. Email:

Heather WeingartHeather Weingart is a community leader, volunteer and school leader. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. A Canton, Michigan native, Ms. Weingart’ has worked as a marketing and operations executive in the hospitality industry in Cleveland, Chicago and Greenville, S.C. Since moving to Shaker Heights in 2006, she has chaired the successful 2017 Shaker Heights Schools $30M levy campaign and the 2015 Night for the Red & White. She has served as the PTO Council, Onaway PTO and Woodbury PTO presidents. Ms. Weingart is also a mother of two current Shaker students. She was elected as the Board's Vice President in 2019 and President in 2020. Term ends 12/31/21. Email:

About the Board

The Board of Education is composed of five residents of the School District who are elected to four-year terms. The Board elects its President and Vice President in an annual organizational meeting. Board members bring to their work a variety of perspectives and strengths gained through their personal experiences, their education and careers, and their volunteer service in the community.

Board members do not have the authority to act individually in the name of the Board. The Board may take action only at duly convened regular, special or emergency meetings.
