Bus Assignments/Here Comes the Bus
All bus assignments will be sent to families via Here Comes the Bus. This convenient website and app allows families to view the location of the bus and get updates if there is a change, delay or breakdown. If you have not already signed up for Here Comes the Bus, please visit
shaker.org/transportation and follow the instructions to get set up. Signing up is easy and takes just a few minutes! Here Comes the Bus will be available after August 14.
Starting in mid-August, families may also obtain their student’s school bus information in PowerSchool (through a web browser, not the app). School bus schedules can be found by logging into your child’s PowerSchool page and clicking on the “Bus Route” link along the left sidebar in PowerSchool's Parent Portal. Available information includes a student's bus number, stop location and stop times.
Class/Schedule Assignments Through PowerSchool
Class and schedule assignments will be available to view in PowerSchool by noon on Friday, August 18. Families should have received instructions for setting up a PowerSchool account. If you need assistance, email
[email protected].
Returning Student Registration Form
Beginning in mid-July, families were asked to complete the returning student registration form located in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Families received an email from PowerSchool Registration Support (
[email protected]) with the subject “Shaker Heights City School District Returning Student Registration for [Student Name]”. This form must be completed prior to the first day of school.
Shaker Heights Schools Calendar
The District maintains an online calendar of all District and building-level events. You can find the calendar at
shaker.org/calendar. Calendar items are posted using each school building's two letter code. Calendars can be sorted using the filtering options. Please check the online calendar frequently as events are updated regularly. In addition, the buildings regularly share upcoming important dates in the weekly newsletters.
Coffee on the Lawn
Parents of students in grades K-6 are invited to join their school’s PTO for Coffee on the Lawn. Boulevard, Fernway, Lomond and Mercer will hold Coffee on the Lawn on Thursday, August 24 from 9-10 a.m. and Onaway Elementary School from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Woodbury Elementary School is hosting their event on Friday, August 25 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The PTO will provide the coffee!
