Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Shaker Heights Schools

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) seeks to ensure that everything we do District-wide—learning and teaching, strategic planning, hiring, professional learning, technology, operations and communications—considers diversity, equity and inclusion.

The Office of DEI facilitates the District’s Equity Advisory and Action Team and the Black Teacher Task Force, supports Learning & Teaching in the District’s efforts to eliminate racially segregated classes and regularly meets with community, District and student groups, among other responsibilities, to promote diversity, equity and inclusion across the District.

The Office of DEI includes Family and Community Engagement, the Student Group on Race Relations (SGORR), the MAC Scholars and MAC Sister Scholars programs and the Shaker Heights High School Bridges Program.

Please use this section of the website to learn more about diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at Shaker Heights Schools and to guide your own knowledge about how you can support DEI in our schools, in our community and our world.
