The Shaker Schools Foundation hopes to collaborate and coordinate with the many community members who are eager to help Fernway Elementary. Fundraising for Fernway

There has been a generous outpouring of concern and support for the students, teachers and staff who are affected by the fire at Fernway Elementary School. Shaker is a strong, caring community!

The Board of Education and District officials are still assessing the damage and developing plans for next steps. These plans will address the building and classroom needs for our students.

The Shaker Schools Foundation exists to enhance the educational resources for Shaker students—beyond those provided by the school district. This includes additional supplies and equipment for academics, arts and athletics, funds for travel and enrichment opportunities, and funds for special projects.

Many community members have expressed concerns about the loss of classroom libraries, special art and science supplies, and other items that have contributed immensely to the nurturing learning environment at Fernway. In some cases, these items have been provided through teachers' personal funds and other special donations.

The Shaker Schools Foundation has established a Fernway Fund to help with recovery efforts from the fire. All gifts to the Fernway Fund will be used to support teachers and students as they rebuild and re-envision their learning environments to benefit Fernway Elementary.
