While the physical location of Fernway School will move temporarily for the 2018-19 academic year, our focus will be maintaining the learning, the teachers and the close-knit feeling of the school community. We understand that change is hard, and even more so when a change is unexpected. Of course, the District is committed to making this process as smooth as possible, given the circumstances. Our decisions on the best plans for moving forward will consider many variables, but our responsibility and our mission to provide students with a high-quality education will serve as our guide.
On August 1, 2018 the District formally announced that Fernway would share space in Boulevard, Onaway and Woodbury Schools (watch the video). This option provides the best possible classroom experience for our students. Please read the July 31, 2018 Board of Education Work Session report for a detailed review of how the District determined this decision.
