Board Member William ClawsonWilliam L. Clawson is a Business Leader for Progressive Insurance. He earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He has over 20 years of professional experience in sourcing management, strategy consulting, and building effective customer experiences. He has served as Treasurer and VP of Financial Management for the Shaker Heights PTO. Mr. Clawson is a trustee and former President of the Harvard Business School Club of Northeastern Ohio and is the father of two Shaker students. He was elected to the Board in 2011, served as its Vice President in 2012 and 2013, and served as President in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Term ends 12/31/19. Email: clawson_w@shaker.org

Todd C. Davidson is the senior pastor of Antioch Baptist Church. He received his doctorate in Education Policy, Planning and Leadership from the College of William and Mary, has taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels, and was twice elected to the Virginia Beach City Public School board. In 2014, he was appointed by Governor Kasich to serve on the Community Connector Advisory Board that focuses on encouraging mentoring opportunities in Ohio schools. He has served on the Shaker Heights City Schools Strategic Planning Committee, teaches a course on Visionary Leadership for the Center for Educational Leadership at Cleveland State University and has participated in PTO events at Woodbury and Boulevard schools. Alex Liston Dykema is an attorney and non-profit consultant. He received his B.A. from Brown University and his law degree from Lewis and Clark’s Northwestern School of Law. He has over 15 years’ experience working in the non-profit field. He and his wife Jennifer are parents of two sons. He has previously served as Chair of the PTO Special Education Committee and as a member of the Stakeholder Advisory Committee appointed during the recent Superintendent search. He has also been involved in the Fernway PTO, in community organizations focused on the schools, and as a volunteer coach. Jeffrey Isaacs is head of U.S. operations for a Japanese maker of specialty art hanging systems in museums such as the Frick Collection, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the National Gallery of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Art. He and his wife, Anne Borchert, have three sons. The oldest two are recent graduates of the High School and the youngest is a sixth-grader at Woodbury Elementary School. Isaacs is a graduate of Vassar College and earned a graduate degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago. Before moving to Shaker, he and his family lived in Japan for five years, where he was an assistant professor at Yokohama City University, doing research and translation. He has been an active PTO volunteer for more than a decade, serving in a variety of leadership roles including PTO Co-President at Boulevard and Co-President of PTO Council, as a tutor, a band booster, and as a National History Day judge. Board Member Annette Tucker SutherlandAnnette Tucker Sutherland Sutherland is an attorney and former journalist. She earned her law degree from Vanderbilt University and B.A. from Duke University. In addition to practicing law for more than 30 years, she has taught at Case Western Reserve Law School and Notre Dame College. She is a board member for other non-profit organizations and works as a volunteer in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. She is the mother of three Shaker graduates who are now in higher education. She is also an alumna. Ms. Sutherland was elected to her third term on the Board in 2013, served as Board Vice President in 2010 and 2011 and President in 2012 and 2013. Term ends 12/31/17. About the Board


The Board of Education is composed of five residents of the School District who are elected to four-year terms. The Board elects its President and Vice President in an annual organizational meeting. Board members bring to their work a variety of perspectives and strengths gained through their personal experiences, their education and careers, and their volunteer service in the community.

Board members do not have the authority to act individually in the name of the Board. The Board may take action only at duly convened regular, special or emergency meetings.
