IB World Schools aim to develop internationally-minded students who are committed to creating a better and more peaceful world.  International-mindedness means understanding, respecting and valuing different cultures, embracing diversity and valuing different perspectives. The learner profile attributes are the pathway to developing international-mindedness within our school community. The learner profile is a set of ten character traits that form a PreK-12th grade social-emotional pathway to equip students with multi-faceted skills for personal and professional success. The ten aspirational qualities of the learner profile inspire and motivate the work of Shaker  teachers, students and schools, providing a statement of the aims and values of the IB mission and a definition of what we mean by “international-mindedness.”  The development of these ten attributes provides students with the foundation they need to function successfully in a diverse society and become the leaders of tomorrow.
