Join us in the auditorium @ 7 p.m. to learn how you can make this the best school year yet for our children. There is always free childcare for kids 18 months to 11 years old.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION – FALL CONTEST!

Box TopThe Fall contest is ON!  It’s time to collect your Box Tops through MONDAY, OCTOBER 15th.  
Participating products will have the Box Tops label (the label is pink and the pencil is yellow) on the package (make sure the expiration date is valid and visible).
Put Box Tops in a sandwich bag or sealed envelope with your teacher’s name on it and bring it to school in through Backpack Mail or deposit in the Box Tops box (near the front entrance of Lomond) by Monday, October 15th.
The top two classes collecting the most Box Tops will win a POPSICLE PARTY!  
Each Box Top redeemed is 10¢ for Lomond Elementary.  Thank you for your support of Lomond PTO and happy collecting!

Pumpkin Affair

Join us for this year's Pumpkin Affair!  Oct. 20, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The annual fall festival will feature a bake sale and chili cook-off! To volunteer, donate baked goods or show off your chili skills, email Coordinator Sherry Baker . Keep an eye out for upcoming information!

PTO Special Education/Learning Difference Parent/Caregiver Group

Shaker Heights Parent Mentor Holly Palda reminds families of children with special needs/learning differences of three district resources for families with children with special needs/learning differences :  the Parent Mentor Program, the PTO Special Education Parent/Caregiver Group and the Autism Support Group.
The Parent Mentor Program is a resource available to families who need information, guidance, or support through any phase of the special education process. The program, which is funded by a grant from the Ohio Department of Education provides assistance to families of children on IEPs at no cost to the family. To receive more information about this program or to request support from the Parent Mentor, email Holly Palda or call her at 216-295-4372.

The PTO Special Education/Learning Difference Parent/Caregiver Group is the source for meeting other families of children with special needs and the professionals that serve them.  Join a conversation with Elizabeth Kimmel, Director of Pupil Services, at the first meeting of the year on Monday September 24 at 7:00 PM at the Shaker Heights Middle School Library. For more information about the PTO Special Education Parent/Caregiver Group, email Chairperson Lydia Beard.
The district’s Autism Support Group is for families raising children with autism spectrum disorder. All of the participants are families who have wrestled with similar issues, who understand, and who are eager to help one another. Reach Jennifer Osborne, the parent facilitator of the group, by email The first support group meeting of the year will be on Wednesday September 26 at 7:00 PM at the Shaker Heights Main Library, meeting room G.
