Retirement Reception for Mark Freeman
Residents, students, alumni, and staff members are invited to a reception in honor of the departing Superintendent on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, from 5-7 pm in the Upper Cafeteria at Shaker Heights High School. 
Students Named Winners in Playwriting Festival
Four budding playwrights from the Shaker schools are winners in the 2013 Marilyn Bianchi Kids’ Playwriting Festival. Out of hundreds of plays submitted, only 20 total were selected this year. 
Econ Team Places 6th in Nation
In their first year of competition, students from Shaker Heights High School placed sixth in the National Economics Challenge.  
A Classic Performance on Greek & Roman Exams
Shaker Heights High School students have earned numerous awards for their excellent results on the National Greek Exam and the National Roman Civilization Exam.  
2 Win Awards in ‘Stop the Hate’ Essay Contest
High School students Evelyn Ting and Abby White were among 25 students recognized at a ceremony at Severance Hall on May 2. More than 1,600 students submitted essays from seven area counties.  
2 Seniors Are Named Gates Millennium Scholars
Scholars, athletes, and student leaders, Liz Jacob and Brenden Stinson are among just 1,000 winners of the award funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  
Shakerfest Celebrates Learning
Shaker students will showcase their musical, theatrical, artistic, and academic accomplishments during this year's Shakerfest celebration. Schedule.
