District Begins Phased-In Return to Onsite Learning November 5

October 30, 2020—All K-8 students who wish to participate in onsite learning will begin a phased-in return to school on Thursday, November 5. High School students will begin a phased-in return to onsite learning on Monday, November 30. Families and staff should review this Phase-In Schedule for Onsite Learning:


Primary:

Kindergarten: Start on Thursday, November 5

Grade 1: Start on Monday, November 9

Grade 2: Start on Tuesday, November 10

Grade 3: Start on Friday, November 6

Grade 4: Start on Tuesday, November 10


Woodbury & Middle School (Grades 5-8):

A Week Students: Thursday, November 5

B Week Students: Friday, November 6

A Week Students: Week of November 9

B Week Students: Week of November 16


High School (Grades 9-12):

Students will start onsite the week of November 30 in an A/B hybrid model with students reporting onsite two full days every week.


Moving forward, teachers will be utilizing a concurrent teaching model. In this model, live classroom lessons with onsite students will be streamed to our online students. Students who are online will be able to engage in the lesson via Google Meet, Zoom and other instructional technology tools.


Please note the following:

  • Please review Student Health and Safety Guidelines.

  • To change your K-8 student’s selection regarding online or onsite instruction, please contact your building principal.

  • Building principals will share additional information regarding schedules for onsite and online students over the next few days. 

  • The District is using the ‘Here Comes the Bus’ app to deliver route information and will not mail bus route notification cards this year. Families with students who qualify for transportation should review this information regarding bus assignments.

  • Meals will continue to be provided free of charge to any student—onsite or online. Updated meal delivery information will be shared for online students. 

  • Before-school and after-school childcare is not being offered at this time.

  • Review this Return to Onsite Learning Checklist to ensure that your student is prepared to return to school.


The District will continue to closely monitor county-level and school-specific COVID-19 data as our students and staff return onsite to continue to inform decisions moving forward.
