Onsite Learning Information for PreK Families

Dear Shaker Early Childhood Parents/Guardians,

On Friday, October 30th, the District announced plans for a phased-in return to onsite learning, for all K-12 students beginning November 5th. In order to best prepare our classrooms and implement all safety and preschool requirements and procedures for our youngest students, the PreK program will remain fully virtual through Friday November 6.  Those PreK students with pre-arranged in-person services will take place as communicated by the PreK staff.

Below are the plans for the return to onsite instruction in our PreK Hybrid model.  Those students who have opted to remain fully online will receive additional details from the PreK staff.

HALF DAY CLASSES:

Beginning the week of November 9th, the Half Day classes will start a Hybrid AA/BB schedule.  Group A Half Day students will learn onsite Monday & Tuesday and Group B  Half Day students will learn onsite Wednesday & Thursday.  All PreK Half Day students, including those who have opted to remain fully online, will receive details about schedules from the PreK staff.

FULL DAY CLASSES:

Beginning the week of November 9th, the Full Day classes will start a Hybrid AA/BB schedule.  Group A Full Day students will learn onsite Monday & Tuesday and Group B Full Day students will learn onsite Wednesday & Thursday.  All Full Day classes will learn remotely on Fridays. The PreK Full Day classes will continue to run from 8:45 - 11:15 am until Thanksgiving break.  All PreK Full Day students, including those who have opted to remain fully online, will receive details about schedules from the PreK staff.

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Transportation has been arranged for all PreK students who are eligible for transportation. The District is using the ‘Here Comes the Bus’ app to deliver route information and will not mail bus route notification cards this year. Families with students who qualify for transportation should review Information Regarding Bus Assignments.

  • The District has safety protocols and PPE established to ensure the safety of all of our students. Please take a moment to review Student Health and Safety Guidelines

Thank you for your patience as we took a little more time to make sure that all the details of this plan will provide the best learning experiences for our youngest students. We look forward to welcoming the PreK students in the Hybrid model into our classrooms, as well as continuing to support those who remain fully online.
