February 2019 Newsletter: SHHS Alum and Pulitzer Prize-winning Journalist Wes Lowery Appears in Washington Post Commercial

Shaker Heights High School alum and Hall of Fame member Wes Lowery (‘08) appears in this commercial by The Washington Post, which aired during last night’s Super Bowl. Wes is a national correspondent for the Post, where he covers issues of race, justice, law enforcement and politics. He was a lead reporter on the team which was awarded the 2016 Pulitzer Prize and George Polk Award for National Reporting for its coverage of fatal police shootings. Wes also is the author of The New York Times’ bestselling book “They Can’t Kill Us All: Ferguson, Baltimore and a New Era in America’s Racial Justice Movement.” While at Shaker Heights High School, Wes spent two years as Editor of The Shakerite, four years as a member and leader of the Student Group on Race Relations, and three years as a Minority Achievement Scholar.
