June 8, 2023—Congratulations to Class of 2023 graduate Miriam Duhamel, winner of a Purdue University National Merit Scholarship! Miriam is among more than 3,000 recipients of a College-Sponsored National Merit Scholarship. Miriam intends to go into computer programming.

 

Officials of each sponsor college selected scholarship winners from among the Finalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their universities. An additional group of recipients will be announced in July, bringing the total number of college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship honorees to about 3,800 nation-wide. The awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.

 

This year, over 150 higher education institutions are underwriting Merit Scholarship awards through the National Merit Scholarship Program. Sponsor colleges and universities include 81 private and 72 public institutions located in 42 states and the District of Columbia.

 

College-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners are a part of the distinguished group of about 7,100 high school seniors who will receive National Merit Scholarships for college undergraduate study worth nearly $28 million.
