April 26, 2024 - The Shaker Heights City School District and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) has identified the Akron-based GPD Group to lead architectural and design work for the District’s Master Facilities Project. The District will seek approval to hire GPD from the Board of Education at its May meeting.

The District received six submittals from its Request for Qualifications (RFQ). The RFQs were scored by the District and OFCC, creating a short list of finalists. Interviews with the finalists took place April 19. The interviews included members of the Facilities Advisory Committee and students from the ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) program.

The GPD Group is also the architect/engineer for the Ludlow School renovation into a PreK center. Request for Proposals (RFP) submissions from prospective construction managers at risk (CMR) have been submitted. The District and OFCC will announce the CMR selection in mid-May.
