Lynne Kulich Is Named Director of Curriculum

Lynne S. Kulich, Coordinator of Instruction for the Massillon City School District, has been selected as the Director of Curriculum for the Shaker Heights City School District, effective July 1. In this new position, she will oversee the development of a unified curriculum that provides continuity of instruction, aligns with the new state academic content standards, and leverages the benefits of the International Baccalaureate Programme for all students in grades Pre-K-12.

Early in her career, Kulich taught in elementary schools in Upper Arlington, Bath, and Massillon. She designed and taught the model elementary foreign language curriculum for the Georgia Department of Education, has been an instructional coach for the Canton City School District, and has taught numerous courses in literacy instruction at the Malone University School of Education in Canton. While in Massillon, she helped develop and implement a curriculum plan for the district.

Kulich holds a B.S. in French education from The Ohio State University, a master’s degree in elementary education, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Akron. She also holds an administrative license from Cleveland State University.

“Dr. Kulich brings to her new role a strong background in evidence-based instructional practices and real-world classroom experience that will benefit us greatly as we work to further improve our rigorous curriculum,” said Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr., Superintendent of Schools. “In addition, her passion for meeting the needs of all learners in a diverse community will help us identify opportunities to increase student achievement across the board.”
