The Vernacular

From 1984 until 2009, SGORR published an annual magazine in which elementary students, high school participants, and community members contributed writing and artwork about SGORR and human relations in Shaker Heights.

In 2010, a SGORR leader re-envisioned the magazine and transformed it into The Vernacular, a more selective, focused publication of writing from students, faculty, and community contributors. The first issue was published in 2011, and our second issue will be published this spring with the theme of becoming an upstander.
