SuccessMaker at Home
 
Shaker Heights students in grades K-8 can use SuccessMaker at home for math and reading.
 
 
Grades K-6 Click the icon to the left. 
 
The username and password are the same as those used at school. The format for username is [first initial][last name] (all in lower case) and the password is the last four digits of the student ID. 
 
Please note: The District has a limited number of licenses for SuccessMaker. If you are not able to log in, try again later.
 
The first time you log in to SuccessMaker from home, it may take some time to load.  You may also be prompted to update or add software if your computer does not have it installed (Java and Flash).  After the first use, logging in will not take as long.

7th and 8th grade students, click on the icon at the left to log in to Successmaker.

Using SuccessMaker at home requires:

  • an adequate Internet connection
  • minimum computer specifications
  • compatible versions of software:  Java, Adobe Flash, browser software
  • for reading, a microphone may be required for certain activities

What are the minimum requirements for computers?

SuccessMaker can be used by laptops, workstations and netbooks with a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 for student courses.   SuccessMaker is not supported for use with mini notebooks, ultraportables (tablets such as iPads) or smartphones.

What Internet connection does SuccessMaker require?
 
SuccessMaker requires a broadband connection with a minimum connection speed of 1.5 Mb/s.  You should have a wired connection to a home router or a direct connection to a cable modem or a DSL modem.  Wireless connections will work if they are properly configured.
How can I get help in using SuccessMaker?
 
The Shaker Heights Schools cannot provide technical support to home users.  Pearson does not provide direct support for SuccessMaker.  There is a community support site to search for answers to your questions at http://support.pearsonschool.com/ .
What software do I need to run SuccessMaker at home?
 
To make SuccessMaker run correctly, make sure you have Java and Adobe Flash player installed on your computer. 
  • Check the requirements for Java and load a version that is compatible.

  • Pearson provides this link to check your computer for compatibility with Successmaker.
How do I make sure the work done at home is recorded in the system?
 
When work is finished, the session should be closed using the X in the top right corner.  Then from the student interface page, click log out.
How can I get a username and password to log in?
 
Students receive a username and password at school.  This works from home too.  If you do not have this information, please contact your child's school office during the school day.
How do I know what work should be done?
 
Each child is assigned a course.  This should appear once they are logged in to SuccessMaker.  If no courses are listed, the child needs to be added to a course.  Please contact your child's school office during the school day if no courses are seen.
