New Tennis Courts to be Dedicated Saturday

The District is pleased to announce that the new tennis courts will be dedicated September 10, 2016, at 9:00 a.m.

Special guests include the members of the School Board and City officials, and representatives of the business community and community organizations. Special recognition will be given to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Facilities Grant Program.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by a tennis play day from 9:30-11:30 a.m. for the general public. The High School Girls and Boys Tennis Team, local pros and tennis enthusiasts are all invited to play and celebrate the game of tennis.

To support the construction of the new tennis courts, the Shaker Heights City Schools District was awarded a $20,000 facility grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Facilities Assistance Grant Program.

The USTA provides these grants to promote the game of tennis by improving courts across the country and developing the growth of tennis from local communities to professional games. One of their core values is to encourage diversity and inclusion to touch all of America, making tennis available to everyone.
