MS Students Compete at History Day State Competition



On Saturday, April 30, four Shaker Heights Middle School students competed at the National History Day state competition at Ohio Wesleyan University. National History Day is a year-long historical inquiry based project in which student’s research a topic related to an annual theme.

The group of students from the Middle School created a documentary titled, "Jane Goodall: Encounter with Chimpanzees," which placed third overall at the regional competition in March. The group consisted of: Grace Geier, Sylvie Prause, Saskia River and Morgan Fowler.

This group of girls worked tremendously hard throughout the year and represented Shaker well at the state competition where more than 100 schools throughout Ohio were represented. The group was advised by David Saluga.
