Shaker Heights Schools combines the G Suite for Education with our 21st century learning environment and the International Baccalaureate Programme to prepare all of our students for the future.
Every day, the District leverages the G Suite for Education with additional technology to enhance collaboration among students, teachers and staff, and to improve efficiency among administrative functions. The Technology Team and the Professional Learning Department regularly coordinate and lead sessions to help teachers apply the technologies that augment their lesson plans, differentiate learning and enable even higher levels of student engagement. Students and teachers alike use District-provided shared Chromebooks for the bulk of capturing, organizing, analyzing and sharing their work.
Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, the District will maintain a 1:1 Chromebook-to-student ratio across all grades to ensure that every Shaker Heights Schools student has equal access to the learning tools and they use every day.
