April 25, 2024—In early February, the District announced new school start and end times for elementary schools and Shaker Heights Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year.
In the months that followed the announcement, the District received some feedback and concerns regarding the Middle School end time. Through additional collaboration, adjustments have been made to the previously announced schedule to alleviate those concerns. As a result, the elementary school start and end times have also been adjusted slightly to accommodate transportation needs.
Updated start and end times for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:
Preschool
SHTA Teacher Day: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Full Day Students: 8:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Half Day Morning Students: 8:45 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
Half Day Afternoon Students: 12:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Grades K-5
SHTA Teacher Day: 7:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Student Day: 8:05 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.
Grades 6-8
SHTA Teacher Day: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Student Day: 8:50 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Grades 9-12
SHTA Teacher Day: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Student Day: 8:20 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.
