Dear Shaker Heights Schools Families,
Shaker Heights Schools faculty and staff have been hard at work preparing for the start to the 2020-2021 school year. Because of the developmental and logistical needs of our students during this unique time, the District is modifying our back-to-school information timelines for this school year.
Outlined below are the planned timelines for class placement and class schedule information, Chromebook and supplies distribution and orientations. Your student’s school building will continue to provide you with the most up-to-date information.

Class Placements & Schedules
Grades 5-12: Grades 5-12 schedules will be available to families in ProgressBook on Thursday, August 27. To learn how to log into ProgressBook, click here.
Chromebooks & Supplies
Grade 5: Grade 5 students should turn in their previously issued District Chromebook and pick up their new District Chromebook as well as supplies at Woodbury on Wednesday, August 26, from 12:30-6 p.m.
Grade 6: Grade 6 students should pick up supplies and instruments at Woodbury on Thursday, August 27, from 12:30-6 p.m. Students new to the District can also pick up a District-issued Chromebook.
Grades 7-12: Information about distribution of Chromebooks and instructional materials will be forthcoming.
Virtual Orientations
Information on connecting with these virtual orientations will come directly from your student’s school building.
Grade 5: Woodbury will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 5 students and families from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26. A video recording will be available for families who are unable to attend. Woodbury will also hold a Grade 5 parent orientation to the technology platforms from 11-11:45 a.m. on Friday, August 28. This will also be recorded for parents who cannot attend.
Grade 6: Woodbury will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 6 students and families from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursday, August 27. A video recording will be available for families who are unable to attend. Woodbury will also hold a Grade 6 parent orientation to the technology platforms at 1-1:45 p.m. on Friday, August 28. This will also be recorded for parents who cannot attend.
Grade 7: The Middle School will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 7 students and families from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, August 27. A video recording will be available for families who are unable to attend.
Grade 8: The Middle School will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 8 students and families from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, August 28. A video recording will be available for families who are unable to attend.
Grade 9: The High School will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 9 students from 9:45 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday, August 28. They also will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 9 families from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26. A video recording will be available for families who are unable to attend.
Grade 10: The High School will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 10 students and families from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26. A video recording will be available for families who are unable to attend.
Grade 11: The High School will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 11 students and families from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 27. A video recording will be available for families who are unable to attend.
Grade 12: The High School will hold a virtual orientation for all Grade 12 students and families from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 27. A video recording will be available for families who are unable to attend.
