Our next meeting is March 22nd and following the PTO business section we will continue our Speaker Series with Dr. Jessica Emick addressing “Parenting through a pandemic: Growth through loss.”
The presentation will provide space to reflect on the unique and collective ways that the pandemic has impacted our roles as parents, the lives of our children, and our greater communities. Specifically, the presentation will consider the ambiguous loss that many parents and children experience but struggle with verbalizing. The presentation will consider ways the impact of the pandemic varies based on systematic factors. Finally, and most importantly, the presentation will present a model of growth through loss and provide specific suggestions for developing resiliency and grit through developing a sense of meaning.
