WALK THROUGH THE WOODBURY INTERIOR

our vision

The renovated Woodbury building will house students in Grades 6-8 as they begin the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The remodeled school will include the center of the original building, which was built in 1918, along with secure entrances and ADA accessibility. The new construction will include modern classrooms, an auditorium and a natatorium.

renovation update

Partial demolition took place July through October 2025. Gilbane Building Company and AKA Construction Management demolished the pool, gym, east wing and west wing. The District will retain the center building and renovate it, then build an addition, including a natatorium, auditorium and classrooms. Foundation work is beginning in December 2025. Woodbury will reopen as the new Middle School in Fall 2027. For the latest updates, sign up for the Facilities Update newsletter.

Interior and exterior renderings have been shared with the community throughout the design process. In September, the City's Architectural Board of Review provided feedback and recommendations on the Woodbury facade. Woodbury construction plans were approved by the ABR in November 2025. The City Planning Commission approved plans related to lighting and signage at Woodbury in November, as well. Construction on the addition is expected to begin in Spring 2026.

The District is working closely with the City Planning Commission/Board of Zoning Appeals and Architectural Board of Review. In November 2025, the District received approvals from various City committees related to the Woodbury site, lighting and signage. Community members may access the Planning Commission/Board of Zoning Appeals documents here and the Architectural Board of Review documents here.
