Student Programming

Student programming in Shaker Heights Schools can support the District's mission of educational equity by providing inclusive opportunities. These programs promote diversity, equity and inclusion by fostering an environment where every student feels valued and represented, encouraging mutual respect and understanding.

Student Group on Race Relations (SGORR)

The Student Group on Race Relations (SGORR) purposefully encourages high school students of multiple backgrounds, cultures and experiences to facilitate conversations around race and inclusion with their fellow Shaker students and community members.

MAC Scholars

The MAC Scholars Program aims to improve academic achievement, encourage positive behavior and foster peer-to-peer mentorship amongst African-American students in Shaker Heights Schools.

The MAC Scholars Summer Enrichment Program is a five-week experience for rising fifth- and sixth-grade students in Shaker Heights that includes thought-provoking classes, activities and field trips.

Shaker Heights High School Bridges Program

The Shaker Heights High School summer Bridges Program serves to increase the number of African American students and other under-represented demographic groups in Advanced Placement (AP) and IB Diploma Program courses.
