Dr. Burnley established his current position for Dayton, developing a comprehensive strategic plan to advance diversity, equity and inclusion for the university, among other accomplishments. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Co-Founder of Inclusive Engagements, LLC, a consulting firm providing professional services on various topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Burnley is a 1974 graduate of Shaker Heights High School and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Shaker Schools Foundation.
