The Shaker Heights City School District is looking forward to welcoming our students back for onsite learning later this month. Please review the onsite start-of-school information below and reach out to your building principal should you have any questions.
Please note: Families who selected the online option received confirmation emails Sunday.
Staggered Hybrid Start Schedule for Grades 5-8
Woodbury and Middle School students have been assigned to A & B groups. Onsite start dates for students participating in the hybrid learning model are listed below by A & B groups. Please note that hybrid learning for the week of October 26 has both groups reporting onsite on different days. Following the first week of hybrid learning, groups will report onsite on alternating weeks.
Monday, October 26: Group A is onsite and Group B is live streaming online.
Tuesday, October 27: Group A is onsite and Group B is live streaming online.
Wednesday, October 28: All students (Group A and B) are remote learning.
Thursday, October 29: Group B is onsite and Group A is live streaming online.
Friday, October 30: Group B is onsite and Group A is live streaming online.
Week of November 2: Group A is onsite and Group B is live streaming online. Please note, there is no school for students on Tuesday, November 3, due to Election Day.

Health & Safety
All students returning to onsite learning must wear masks. Families should also build a student wellness check into their morning routines. Wellness checks should be done prior to your student’s arrival at school each morning. Please review the District’s Student Health & Safety Guidelines for more information.
School Supplies
Families should plan for their student to bring any school supplies provided to them upon returning to onsite learning. This includes Chromebook, charging cord, headset and computer mouse, as well as art and classroom learning supplies provided to students. Woodbury and Middle School students will use these supplies in the classroom and will bring them home for use during their weeks offsite.
Transportation
The Shaker Heights City School District’s walk-zone mapping boundaries have been updated to reflect a one-mile walk zone around school buildings for all students in grades 5-8. The District also provides transportation for all students with physical or cognitive disabilities that make walking impossible or unsafe
For families who receive transportation, information regarding receiving your student’s bus stop location and times will be provided soon.
Before- & After-School Child Care: Woodbury Students Only
Champions will provide before- and after-school child care options for Woodbury students in grades 5 and 6 beginning Monday, November 9. The before- and after-school programs offer learning activities, homework help and healthy snacks. The program hours and pricing is as follows
Beforecare: 7 a.m.-8:15 a.m.
Aftercare: 2 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
Full day care for days when school is not in session: $32
Registration fees are $50/student or $75 for families with multiple students. Champions also offers rate discounts for multiple students, military families, District employees and for families who utilize both before- and after-school care.
