Hello Shaker Heights Schools families, students and staff.
Over the last few weeks, I have had the opportunity to attend numerous end-of-year celebrations, including IB Exhibitions, field days, clap outs, awards ceremonies – and, of course, the Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2023. It is always exciting to see and to celebrate learning in action and I want to congratulate all of our students and staff on a fantastic school year.
As we close out one year, we are also busy preparing for the summer and school year ahead.
In a few weeks, the District will once again welcome students to our JumpStart Plus summer program. Jumpstart Plus focuses on providing academic support for participating students and integrates enrichment experiences such as Lego building and design, dance, poetry and more.
During the week of June 12, we will be holding our annual District Leadership Institutes to engage in professional learning opportunities with our faculty and staff and lay a strong foundation for the coming 2023-2024 school year.
We will also be holding our popular Back-to-School Barbecue on Wednesday, August 2, and I invite you all to attend! Stay tuned for more information and a chance to RSVP.
To our faculty and staff: Thank you for all of your hard work this year and every year. I hope you enjoy the summer!
To our students: It has been a joy this year spending time with so many of you and getting to see you learn, grow and develop. I am excited for what you have already accomplished and for what lies ahead. I hope you have a fun and relaxing summer break – and remember to keep reading!
To our families: Thank you for your continued support and for your partnership in providing our students with a world-class education.
To our graduates and their families: it has been an honor to be a part of your education and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
