We’ll be sending you regular updates to share any new information and to remind you about previous messages we don’t want you to have missed. Some updates will be shorter and some will be longer, but we’ll be staying in touch.

This Update is being sent on Thursday in observance of the Shaker Heights City School District's summer hours Monday-Thursday.

What’s New

  • Today, Governor DeWine released reopening guidance for Ohio’s K-12 schools. The guidelines emphasized school vigilance in assessing COVID symptoms, regular washing and sanitizing hands to prevent COVID spread, thorough and regular cleaning of frequently used surfaces, physical distancing and face coverings for staff and students in Grade 3 and higher. The District’s plans, which Dr. Glasner expects to release next week, will align with these state guidelines. Review the Ohio Department of Education Reset and Restart Education guidelines for the fall.

  • In today’s Superintendent’s Summer Update, Dr. Glasner shared additional information about the hybrid and virtual instructional models, as well as information on course offerings for grades 5-12, that the District is considering for the 2020-21 school year.
