June 22, 2020—Congratulations to rising Junior Gabe Murasic, who was one of ten teens from around the world named a winner in the Earthrise photography contest. The contest was sponsored by the Global Oneness Project, an initiative of Kalliopeia Foundation that uses storytelling to bring the world’s cultures to life in the classroom.
Gabe’s photograph of a robin in central Cleveland will be featured on the Global Oneness Project website. He will also receive a $200 prize.
The contest was inspired by the film, Earthrise, and celebrated the 50-year anniversary of Earth Day. Students who submitted photographs were asked to consider how they might reimagine and redefine the meaning of home in the context of sheltering at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
