May 23, 2022 - Shaker Heights Middle School Orchestra, Choir and Band participated in an adjudicated contest at Music in the Parks Festival in Sandusky, Ohio this past Saturday, May 21st. Orchestra and Band performed at Perkins High School and Choir performed at Briar Middle School. They then headed over to Cedar Point where students attended an award ceremony and enjoyed the rest of the day.
All groups took top place! The results for each class were:
- Shaker Middle School Orchestra: Superior Rating and 1st place
- Shaker Middle School Chamber Orchestra: Superior Rating and 1st Place
- Shaker Middle School Symphonic Winds: Superior Rating and 1st Place
- Shaker Middle School Choir: Superior Rating and 1st Place
Overall Achievement Awards
Shaker Heights Middle School Chamber Orchestra and the Symphonic Winds took the Overall Achievement awards for all orchestras and bands in attendance at the event, which means they had the highest scores out of all groups attending from around the region.

- All our chaperones who helped us navigate our contest site and then monitored students at Cedar Point.
