Scheduled Search at Shaker Heights High School
A previously scheduled random search of lockers is taking place today at the High School. The K-9 Unit of the Shaker Heights Police Department is assisting in detecting any contraband or illegal substances. Random searches of this type have taken place in the past and help us maintain a safe and secure learning environment. Per page 75 of the Shaker Heights Schools 2017-2018 Student Handbook, “The Board permits the Superintendent to authorize the use of dogs trained in detecting the presence of drugs and explosive devices. The dogs may be used to search school facilities and grounds, including lockers and parking areas. Use of dogs may be unannounced.” Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe.
