SHHS Junior Josh Floyd Named GLHL Player of the Week

Josh FloydFebruary 7, 2020—Congratulations to Shaker Heights High School junior forward hockey player Josh Floyd, named Great Lakes Hockey League Player of the Week! Josh is the second GLHL Player of the Week from Shaker Heights High School in as many weeks. Last week, senior Devin Campbell was GLHL Player of the Week.

This week’s Great Lakes Hockey Weekly newsletter noted Josh’s hat trick goal to lead the Raiders past the Mentor Cardinals last Saturday. It was the Raiders’ second win of the season over Mentor, the #5-ranked team in the state, and vaulted them into the Top 10 for the first time this season.

Josh has scored 10 goals in 30 games this season and had a pair of two-goal games eight days apart last month. “Josh had a very good weekend and was obviously a major contributor in our win against Mentor,” Coach Matt Bartley told Great Lakes Hockey Weekly. “We were battling some injury and illness over the weekend, so it was nice to him step up and produce offensively for us.”

Congratulations, Josh!
