December 14, 2021–The Shaker Heights Board of Education has approved an adjustment to the current academic calendar. Please note the following revision:
- Monday, January 3, 2022: Professional Day, No Classes for Students. This adjustment extends Winter Break by one day for students. PreK-12 classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4.
This calendar adjustment will provide additional professional learning and collaboration time for faculty and staff as they work to support high achievement for all Shaker students. The District’s Learning & Teaching Department will be providing families with optional PreK-8 grade-level curriculum resources to use on January 3.
In response to feedback from the community, the District withdrew its request to implement four two-hour early dismissal days beginning in February 2022.
