November 24, 2020—We are pleased to announce that the Shaker Heights Teachers’ Association and the Administration have agreed to a one-year extension of our current collective bargaining agreement. SHTA members overwhelmingly approved the extension last week, and the Board of Education approved the agreement earlier today.
SHTA and the Administration recognize that these are challenging times for the Shaker Schools and school districts across the nation. We also want to recognize our teachers for their great work and commitment during this extraordinary period.
The pandemic has cast a cloud of uncertainty over every aspect of public education, including funding. This agreement makes sense for our teachers, our students and our community. It will enable us to move through this school year and beyond, and sets the stage for further collaboration in the future.
