April 29, 2021—The following is a list of resources and upcoming events for incoming Kindergarten families.
Kindergarten Kickoff Resource Website
If you missed the Kickoff or just want to review some of the information sessions, please visit www.shaker.org/kindergartenkickoff. There, you will find session recordings, principal videos and links to helpful resources.
Pictures & Playtime: Sunday, May 2
The Shaker Heights PTO, Shaker Heights City School District and CardMyYard Shaker Heights & Chagrin Falls are providing fun photo opportunities at each elementary building on Sunday, May 2. Have your student wear their Class of 2034 shirt, head to your school building and take pictures among the fun welcoming signs provided by CardMyYard. Signs will be on display from approximately 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Be sure to post your photo on social media using the #IAMSHAKER hashtag and we may share your photo on our District page!
Additionally, PTO representatives will be on-hand at each building and their playgrounds to connect with families at the following times:
Boulevard: 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
Fernway: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Lomond: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Mercer: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Onaway: 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
Please note: We ask that families do not touch/move the signs to preserve them for everyone’s enjoyment. Please also follow masking and social distancing protocols when visiting.
Yard Signs & Kindergarten Goody Bags
Each building PTO is assisting in delivering goody bags to households of families who signed up for the Kindergarten Kickoff but could not pick up bags prior to the event. Current PreK families whose students will be in Kindergarten next year are also slated to receive bags/signs in the coming days.
Families who did not sign up for the Kickoff and/or have not yet enrolled in school will be delivered the Kindergarten yard signs and goody bags upon enrollment.
