Review these Updated Schedule Changes for Students and Staff on March 9 & 10

February 24, 2021

Dear Shaker Heights Schools Families,

Please review the following updates to the revised schedule for students on March 9 and 10:

  • Tuesday, March 9 will be an asynchronous and synchronous online learning day for all students. From 8 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, March 9, learning will be asynchronous while staff and faculty receive their second COVID-19 vaccine doses. Student learning will be synchronous for the remainder of instructional day. All District buildings will be open; administrators, custodians, security monitors and administrative assistants will report (when they are not receiving their vaccine).

  • On Wednesday, March 10, all District school buildings and administrative offices, including the Administration Building, will be closed. There will be no classes for students.

School schedules on March 9 will remain the same for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade. High school students will follow the “Even Day” schedule. The PreK team will communicate details regarding the schedule for March 9 directly to families.

As a reminder, students who are onsite Monday, March 8, will receive breakfast and lunch for March 9 and 10 at the end of the school day. Students who learn online will receive breakfast and lunch for Tuesday through Thursday, as well as breakfast for Friday, at the regular meal drop off on Monday, March 8. Meal drop offs will resume Friday, March 12.

We are excited about the opportunity for our faculty and staff to receive these vaccinations, and we thank you for your flexibility and understanding.

Sincerely,

Dr. David Glasner, Superintendent
