Extended Closure Update | March 16, 2020

We’ll be sending you regular updates during this extended closure to share any new information and to remind you about previous messages we don’t want you to have missed. Some updates will be shorter and some will be longer, but we’ll be staying in touch.

Even though our schools and offices are closed, our faculty and staff are still committed to working hard each day on behalf of every student and family.

What’s New

  • Today was the first day of our extended closure. The majority of our staff and faculty worked from home, finalizing their distance learning plans. Teachers and principals will share these plans with families as they become available.

  • The District PreK-4 team created this helpful list of Instructional Resources for parents and guardians. It includes:

    • A sample daily schedule for students for distance learning

    • Suggested activities for your student, organized by subject (special subjects included!)

    • Online technology resources

    • Online STEAM-learning resources

    • Links to the District’s online staff directory

  • The College Board has canceled the May 2 SAT administration and the March 28 makeup exam date. Please review College Board’s Coronavirus Updates for more information.

Coming Up

  • Tomorrow, we’ll release our breakfast and lunch delivery plan by email, social media, text and robocall. We ask that our families share this information widely.

  • District administrators on working on a plan to distribute devices and hotspots to students who need them. We will share this plan as soon as it becomes available.
