Extended Closure Update | April 8, 2020

We’ll be sending you regular updates during this extended closure to share any new information and to remind you about previous messages we don’t want you to have missed. Some updates will be shorter and some will be longer, but we’ll be staying in touch.

Even though our schools and offices are closed, our faculty and staff are still committed to working hard each day on behalf of every student and family.

What’s New

  • Students, staff and families should review Online Learning and Teaching Safety and Best Practices to learn how to safely and responsibly use web-based tools used for learning and teaching during this extended closure.

  • Report cards for students in Grades 5-12 will be posted to ProgressBook by the end of the day on Thursday.

  • The District has begun distributing Sprint Hotspots to those who requested them. Please review these Sprint Hotspot Instructions if you received one. If you have issues with your Sprint hotspot, call 216-295-5550. Please do not contact Sprint.

Coming Up

  • There will be no school for students and staff on Friday, April 10 in observance of Good Friday. Administrative offices also will be closed.

  • In the coming weeks, the District will send all families a Distance Learning Survey to gather feedback on students’ learning experiences at home. Thank you to all students, staff and families this week for your patience and continued hard work as we adjust to distance learning.

Reminders

  • Complete a Technology Tools Request to request a District-issued Chromebook (grade K-4) or hotspot device (grades K-12) if you do not have home internet service.

  • For a complete list of canceled events and student travel, please visit Extended School Closure Event and Travel Cancellations.

  • In response to the COVID-19 extended school closure, the District will offer online-only enrollment for the 2020-21 academic year. Parents and guardians may submit required forms electronically by computer or mobile phone. Learn about online enrollment.
