This Update is being sent on Thursday in observance of the Shaker Heights City School District's summer hours Monday-Thursday.

What’s New

Coming Up

  • Shaker Jumpstart, the District’s summer distance-learning program, will be offered virtually Mondays through Thursdays beginning July 6 and concluding July 30. The program’s enrichment and learning website will offer a variety of resources for families with students at all grade levels, including book clubs for required summer reading for grades 7-12, college readiness webinars, cooking tutorials, mindfulness exercises and social-emotional supports. Additionally, students in grades K-8 can sign up for pre-recorded lessons in Google Classrooms, which will feature two learning activities daily Monday through Thursday. The District also will offer targeted small-group interventions and instruction. Families will be contacted by a District representative if a student qualifies for these targeted interventions.
