4th Grade Clap Out, Tuesday, June 7th

On Tuesday, June 7th at 2:30pm, all fourth graders will participate in a brief, all school farewell event which we call, “Clap Out.”  This is a Shaker tradition for students leaving an elementary school.

This year, the event will take place on the blacktop at the back of school.  Kindergarten through third grade students will line up in the hallways singing the school song as each fourth grader walks through.  Fourth graders will end their walk at the back of school, cross over a bridge one by one, to be congratulated by their teacher and the principals. Classes will march in the following order:  Ms. DiPiero, Mr. Grahl, Ms. Malone and Mr. Reese.

After each class has clapped out, they are to meet parents/family members at the following designated areas:

Mrs. DiPiero: Front of School

Mr. Grahl:  Flag Pole

Ms. Malone:  Tents

Mr. Reese:  Learning Garden

If you will be taking your student home immediately following Clap Out, please sign him/her out with the teacher. If your child will dismiss as usual, he/she will return to the classroom with their teacher.

Fourth graders should dress appropriately for this very special occasion.   However, it is not mandatory that they dress in formal clothing.

Thank you for your cooperation.  We look forward to a wonderful day for our fourth grade students.
