October 11, 2022—Thirteen Shaker Heights High School students have been named Commended Students in the 68th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. 

 

This year's Commended Students from Shaker are Class of 2023 members Emily Boron, Joshua Brown, Emily Daley, Adrik Dutta, Brian Fox, Alexander Gingras, Tomas Halldorsson, Jonathan Jacques, Samir Khatri, Nicolo Moulthrop, Reece Turner and Eleanor von der Heydt. Class of 2022 graduate Sophia Rose was also named a Commended Student.

 

Commended Students are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their performance on the PSAT. Nationwide, 34,000 students receive this honor. 

 

These scholastically talented students are considered top candidates for admission to the most selective colleges. National Merit Scholarship winners of 2023 will be announced in four nationwide news releases beginning in April 2023 and concluding July 2023.
