Class of 2022 Commencement Information

SHAKER HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL

COMMENCEMENT 2022

Tuesday, June 7, 2022

6:00 p.m.

Bert L. and Iris S. Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University

Below are some important reminders for Commencement:

Tickets

Graduates will receive ten tickets for the graduation ceremony at the Passport to Commencement event on June 3. All extra ticket requests previously submitted will be honored. These extra tickets will be included in the ticket envelope.  At this time, no additional tickets are available. The Wolstein Center staff will not admit anyone (regardless of age) into the venue without a ticket. Therefore, it is important to keep your tickets in a safe place.

Passport to Commencement

Passport to Commencement is a required event for all graduates. This is where graduates will be given their Commencement tickets, pick up their caps and gowns, and other “check-out” activities. The first event is on Friday, June 3, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and a second smaller event (for students who could not attend the first event or who were not yet cleared for graduation) will be Monday, June 6, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Both events take place in the North Gym of the High School.

Graduation Day

All graduates must report to the High School’s North Gym promptly at 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 7. To ensure a timely start of the ceremony, all graduates will be transported one-way, by bus, to the Wolstein Center. Graduates must arrange for transportation home at the conclusion of the event.

Guests

The Wolstein Center doors will open at 5:00 p.m. There will be two gates open on the east side of the building (Medical Mutual Gate A and Gate B).  Please keep in mind that the Wolstein Center's policy states all guests (regardless of age) require a ticket to enter the arena (including babies and children). In addition, the Wolstein Center does NOT permit balloonsballoon bouquets, or noisemakers of any kind. Please do not bring them to Commencement or you will be asked to remove these items from the premises. Purses, diaper bags and other small personal bags are permitted, but will be subject to a wanding inspection at the doors for safety purposes. Should you arrive before 5:00 p.m., there is standing-room-only outside the Wolstein entrance. This may be important to note if senior citizens are accompanying you to the Commencement.

Graduation seating will be open to families on a first-come, first-served basis. We ask that you arrive by 5:45 p.m. and work cooperatively with the Wolstein Center staff so that we can seat everyone comfortably prior to the ceremony. Guests may request special needs seating upon arrival.

Parking
The Wolstein Center South Garage is located on East 21st Street between Carnegie Avenue and Prospect Avenue.  Special event parking rates will be posted.  Several other lots are located on Prospect Avenue, East 18th Street, Carnegie Avenue, and Central Avenue. More parking info can be found at wolsteincenter.com/parking/.
