The District will again be renting temporary lights for the High School stadium for nighttime games, practices and events at the facility. The lights were delivered and installed on Monday, August 15, by Musco Sports Lighting, which provided temporary lights to the District last fall.
The following 14 night games have been scheduled:
- Football: August 19 at 7 p.m.; September 2 at 7 p.m.; September 16 at 5 p.m.; October 7 at 7:30 p.m. (homecoming).
- Girls Soccer: August 29 at 7 p.m.; September 15 at 7 p.m.; October 3 at 7:30 p.m.; October 11 at 7 p.m.
- Boys Soccer: September 12 at 7 p.m.; September 21 at 7:30 p.m.; September 24 at 7 p.m.; September 29 at 7 p.m.
- Field Hockey: September 19 at 7 p.m.; September 30 at 7 p.m.
The District tested temporary lights at the High School stadium for approximately one month during the 2021 fall athletic season to assess the long-term viability of holding nighttime events there. Lights were used for five interscholastic night games and five night practices. The temporary lighting units were removed October 18 the conclusion of the fall athletic season.
Nearly 90 percent of the respondents to a survey about lights at the High School stadium supported the continued use of lights for nighttime events at the facility.
Additional night games may be scheduled if needed based on postseason tournament schedules.
