With OverDrive’s new e-book reader, students can read—or listen—to any book, from any device. Some of Sora’s great features: borrow and open books with one tap; notes or highlights can be exported to PDF, CSV, Drive, etc.; playback speed (for audiobooks) can be increased up to 3x; font type can be adjusted; progress is synced across devices; and best of all, students will also have access to books and audiobooks in Clevnet! Fernway Elementary is a Common Sense Media (CSM) Certified School. Parents and students are encouraged to check out the CSM to learn more about how to be safe and informed users of digital media.
 

Our Staff

Mrs. McLaughlin teaches classes about books and authors. She also teaches students to become good inquirers. All students learn how to find and use information in the library and on the Internet. The librarian also knows how to find exactly the right book for each student to read. She works with teachers to make sure the library has resources to help students achieve.
 
Mrs. Claudia McCord, Library Technician
Mrs. McCord helps students and teachers check materials in and out. She knows exactly where everything can be found and helps students and staff use resources and computers in the library. She also helps with all technology at Fernway.
