The mission of the Shaker Heights Schools Library Program is to provide a place for students to learn and appreciate the power of information and reading through various print and electronic materials. Through collaboration, research, and thinking critically, students will become proficient, lifelong learners in a changing global environment.
About Our Libraries
The Shaker Heights City School District libraries are centers for collaborative learning, where students can find resources to extend their learning with guidance and instruction from professional teacher-librarians.
The library program is a key component of the educational program. Our teacher librarians collaborate with teachers to provide learning experiences for students in information, technology, and media literacy. They help students and staff working on research and projects while also selecting materials that match curricular goals and reading interests for students.
