Shaker Schools Foundation Announces Upcoming Retirement of Executive Director Holly McCormick

The Shaker Heights Schools and the Shaker Schools Foundation are announcing the retirement of Executive Director Holly McCormick effective mid-January.

Since joining the Shaker Schools Foundation 10 years ago, Ms. McCormick has provided leadership in advancing the Foundation’s mission and expanding opportunities for Shaker students. During her tenure, she has overseen the Foundation’s day-to-day operations, supported the District’s alumni relations efforts, strengthened donor relationships and led the way on organizing and invigorating events such as the annual fundraising event A Night for the Red & White and Shaker Speaks, a series of events giving voice to Shaker alumni.

“Holly has been an exceptional leader for the Shaker Schools Foundation and a tremendous partner to our schools and our community,” said Dr. David Glasner, Superintendent of Shaker Heights Schools. “We are deeply grateful for Holly’s years of service, her leadership, and the energy and care she has brought to this important work. While we will miss having her as part of our team, we celebrate all that she has accomplished and wish her every happiness in her retirement.”

Ms. McCormick joined the Shaker Schools Foundation following a career spanning two decades in marketing, development and management in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Prior to joining the Foundation, she served as the Chief Development Officer for the Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio. She worked previously for the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. From 2006 to 2009, she served as Chairwoman of the Board of the Disciples Christian Church in Cleveland.

The Shaker Schools Foundation was established in 1981 to provide resources to enrich the educational experience of Shaker students. Over the years, the Foundation has helped strengthen educational opportunities throughout the District through the generosity and engagement of alumni, families, community members and other partners.

The District and the Shaker Schools Foundation Board of Trustees will begin a search for a Foundation Director immediately. The search will seek a leader who can build on the Foundation’s strong history while continuing to advance its mission and support the educational experience of Shaker students. Those interested may view a description of the position.

Please join the Shaker Heights Schools and the Shaker Schools Foundation in thanking Ms. McCormick for her service and wishing her all the best in her retirement.
