Jasmine Venson Named Next Principal at Boulevard Elementary School

Jasmine Venson, currently associate principal at Shaker Heights Middle School, has been selected as the next principal of Boulevard Elementary School. She will begin her new role on August 1, succeeding Neal Robinson, who will return to the classroom within Shaker Heights Schools.

Ms. Venson emerged as the strongest applicant following a comprehensive interview process that included a diverse group of Boulevard faculty, students, staff, parents and District administrators. With nearly 20 years of experience, she has served as an instructional leader, classroom teacher and building administrator. 

As associate principal of Shaker Heights Middle School, Ms. Venson leads and develops staff while fostering a positive school culture and climate. Her work is grounded in advancing inclusive excellence, strengthening collaboration and ensuring equitable outcomes for all students.

“Ms. Venson is a thoughtful and student-centered leader who brings a deep commitment to instructional excellence and equity,” said Dr. Felecia Evans, Assistant Superintendent of Learning & Teaching. “Her ability to build strong relationships with students, staff and families, paired with her focus on continuous improvement, makes her an outstanding fit for the Boulevard Elementary School community.”

Prior to joining Shaker Heights Schools, Ms. Venson served as a teacher and leader at Mentor Exempted Village Public Schools, where she taught fourth grade and helped lead diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at Ridge Elementary School. She also worked in Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher and as a summer school principal.

Ms. Venson holds a bachelor’s degree in PreK-Grade 5 education from Kent State University as well as a master’s in education from Walden University.

The Boulevard Elementary School community is invited to a ‘Meet & Greet’ event for new principal Jasmine Venson from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 11 on the Boulevard playground (weather permitting). In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the Boulevard gym.
